Michigan DEC will celebrate our 10th annual conference this year! This conference couldn't happen without the MiDEC Board of Directors, volunteers, speakers and YOU!
Our goal for each participant is to have a productive learning experience and an opportunity to share with colleagues through quality, research-based sessions, and productive organizational meetings.
2020 Call for Proposals deadline has been extended to December 13, 2019! Please reference the proposal instructions if you have questions about completing the proposal.
The theme this year is 'Meeting the Needs of ALL Learners'. Our goal is to provide families, practitioners, and faculty in higher education with a variety of meaningful sessions and dynamic presentations that encourage continuity of strategies and richness of skills for meeting the needs of all children and students, birth to age eight regardless of background, ability, or cultural differences. Session proposals addressing the following topics will be given our top consideration:
* Supporting children in inclusive settings,
* Promoting Universal Design for Learning,
* Advancing Cultural Competency,
* Understanding Implicit Bias,
* Encouraging Mindfulness, being present
* Developing Resilience, and
* Expanding Social-emotional Supports
Session proposals should be relevant to family members, early interventionists, early childhood and early childhood special education professionals, related service personnel, administrators, faculty, college students or policymakers representative of cross-sector personnel.
